Finding a suitable fire safety consultant and risk assessor can be problematic.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 allows for any competent and capable person to carry out a
fire risk assessment.

Suitable training will help to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain competence.
However, the individual carrying out that assessment will need to be able to demonstrate that they are
appropriately qualified to complete the assessment.

Verifying the credentials of a risk assessor is also essential and third party certification will support your
